Live from the Clinic

Gain insight into some of respiratory medicine's most important clinical procedures with real-time demonstrations carried out by experts from some of the top clinics in Europe.

The Live from the Clinic sessions will feature a wide range of techniques for clinicians to learn from and will be followed by an interactive question and answer session, offering participants the opportunity to discuss each procedure’s application and effectiveness.

  • Paediatric procedures
    Real-time procedure from Dusseldorf (UKD) University Hospital. Pre-recorded procedures with live discussion from Rotterdam (Erasmus MC) and Bern (Insel) university hospitals.
    This session aims to explain how several procedures in paediatrics may be performed and organised.

  • Bronchoscopy and endosonography: Lung cancer
    Real-time and pre-recorded procedures with live discussion from Amsterdam (AMC) and Heidelberg university hospitals.
    EBUS and EUS have become minimally invasive techniques for the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer. This session will display various bronchoscopic navigation techniques, tumour detection and sampling procedures.

    Real-time and pre-recorded procedures with live discussion from Heidelberg University Hospital.
    This session will demonstrate innovative endoscopic techniques to provide novel treatment options for patients’ emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

  • Bronchoscopy and ultrasound: Interstitial and pleural diseases
    Real-time procedure from Amsterdam (AMC) University Hospital. Pre-recorded procedures with live discussion from Odense and Oxford university hospitals.
    This session will demonstrate endoscopic procedures important for diagnosing sarcoidosis and interstitial lung diseases as well as some of the most common investigations carried out using transthoracic ultrasound.

  • Physiology procedures 
    Real-time and pre-recorded procedures with live discussion from Enschede and Basel university hospitals.
    This session will provide an overview of when body plethysmography and spiroergometry procedures can be performed (indications and contraindications), demonstrate how to perform the procedure in the clinic and discuss how to interpret the results.
